Dear Fairmont Butte Motorsports Park Supporters,
As always, I thank you for on-going support of Fairmont Butte Motorsports Park.
Although we continue to move quickly and surely to comply with the County’s requirements for our project, it doesn’t always work the other way around.
This last hearing on June 9 was supposed to move us closer to approval. Instead, the County continued the hearing to October 20 to give it time to complete its findings regarding the project and to address a water rights lawsuit against the County that affects a number of projects in the Antelope Valley, including ours. The lawsuit is has nothing to do with our project specifically, but we must wait for the County to address the issue.
We remain confident that our project is on track and expect to move forward as previously planned on the new August hearing date.
The continued hearing will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the Los Angeles County Hall of Records, Room 150, at 320 West Temple Street, Los Angeles.
You are welcome to attend and support our project.
The Planning Commission staff continues to post materials regarding the project on its Web site

You can also send your support comments directly to Los Angeles County Fifth District Supervisor Mike Antonovich via e-mail at: . (If you do, please make sure to copy Jodie Sackett.)

I have presented here some of the positive aspects of the track which you can use in your letter:
- Building the race track will permanently preserve the Fairmont Butte and protect it and its archeological resources from vandalism.
- The racetrack will be an upscale racing facility that includes a clubhouse, garages, pit lane shaded area and garage lounges. A racer’s destination, open to all income levels, which is much needed in California.
- It will reduce illegal off road activity in the area.
- It will have a positive effect on surrounding communities.
Thank you again for your support.
Respectfully,
Thomas E. Malloy
